Heartland Outfitters is located in west central Illinois and manages over twelve thousand acres in Adams and Brown counties. Illinois now leads the nation in producing big bucks, entering more animals in the Boone and Crocket record book over the last 21 years than any other state. All of our properties are privately owned and quality managed to produce the best opportunity to harvest a buck.

We try to harvest as many or more does than bucks and have a minimum requirement of eight points wider than the ears, to qualify a buck for harvest. The goal is to shoot only bucks that score the Pope and Young minimum of 125” or larger. To encourage quality management, Heartland awards a free hunt every year for the next season to a hunter selected at random from those who harvested a doe. This strategy helps keep the deer herd on Heartland properties well balanced and increases the competition between bucks for does during the breeding season. Heartland hunters return year after year to enjoy a true hunting vacation in a place where there are trophy bucks.
